Blessed Earth Farm is a 1 acre urban farm located in rural Alamance County. We, the Shepherd family, along with interns from CCCC and other paid employees, grow roughly 1200 lbs. of food here each year.
We make the most of our space by using lots of trellising, terracing, and interplanting. Our beautiful red clay soil is enriched with manure, compost, ashes, leaf mulch, gypsum and colloidal phosphate. We do not use any non-organic substances.
Through sustainable methods and careful planning, the harvest grows more abundant each year. We are committed to water conservation, bee, butterfly and bird habitats, low/no spray fruits, zero waste of resources & recycling. We are also stanch supporters of our fellow farmers and the agricultural tradition of NC.

In addition to purchasing our fine products and spreading the word, there are a couple of other ways to help us reach our goals. We accept all usable canning jars from 4oz. to 64oz. and offer a .25 credit, or cash, for each one. We also accept white wrapping paper, bubble wrap, and peanuts for our shipping needs. The best drop off point is the Carrboro Farmers' Market on Saturday morning.
In return, we’re here for you! Local customers can order by the case, 12 jars of anything (excluding sale items) and receive $1.00 off per jar. Arrangements can be made to pick up your order or have it delivered. Gift baskets are available, as are gift bags, with any number of products. We also provide favors for weddings & anniversary parties, and relish trays for cocktail parties & holidays. And if you’re invited to partake of a “local” meal, our products would be an outstanding addition.
If you don’t already know our wares, you’re missing out!
Don’t hesitate to visit us at the markets, online, or at any one of our local stores. Call or e-mail if you have questions or a specific yen; I’ll help if I can.
